Last week, Intero Saratoga and real estate agent, Kim Connor hosted another successful Sam's Chowder Day! Sam's Chowdermobile served up 50lbs of lobster in just the first 2 hours of the event! Now that's a lot of Lobster Rolls.  All in all it was a beautiful day and a great excuse for people to come together for the Foundation.  So what was the total raised?  At the end of the day, $3,150 is being donated to the Intero Foundation all to help kids in our community. Here's to the next one in April 2014!

Saratoga Eats Has People Coming Back for Seconds

Over 1,000 gather for Saratoga Eats Fundraiser

On Friday, August 16th, Intero hosted the second Saratoga Eats. Raising over $1,000 more than the last Saratoga Eats that took place in June, this event “was nothing less than spectacular!” exclaimed Kim Connor, a Realtor out of the Intero Saratoga office, and the primary organizer of the event she dubbed a “neighborhood food truck adventure.”

First, the trucks rolled into the Intero Saratoga parking lot. Then, about one thousand friends, family and neighbors of Intero came together to enjoy the delicious food, drinks, and music. The “Area Specialists,” a local Los Gatos band, kicked off the night and a DJ kept the high spirits going.  Kim said in the aftermath, “Many of the neighbors commented that this event is the best thing that has come to this neighborhood in years! In fact, people didn’t want to leave.  They enjoyed hanging out and being with each other whether there was food and drinks or not.” She then added, “I was surprised to see my clients’ impressive support for the Foundation as well.  I even noticed one of my clients placing orders at many of the trucks to provide yummy food for a pool party for her son’s basketball team.  How cool is that!”

Ten percent of the proceeds from each truck benefited the Intero Foundation.  In addition to matching the donations from the trucks, Kim Connor underwrote the beer and wine so that all the money collected went directly to the foundation.  Ultimately, the event raised $5,800 that will be dedicated to assisting the education and personal development of children in need in the community.  Cathy Jackson, President of the Intero Foundation, stated, “It was not just an ordinary fundraiser, but a community event that brought people from all over together. We have an incredible team that makes this possible because they really care about our community.”

Intero gives a whole-hearted thank you to Mogo BBQ, Melts My Heart, Midday Picnic, House of Siam On Wheels, We Sushi, Scoops SJ, TasteeBytes SJ, Banjara Bistro, Rice Rockit, Madd Mex Cantina, and Old Port Lobster Shack.  We also thank all who attended and helped out in any way, exposing the community to Intero’s values, spreading awareness of what the Intero Foundation does, and having fun along the way.

Saratoga Eats a Smashing Success!

Over 1,000 gather for Saratoga Eats Fundraiser

On Friday, June 14th, Intero hosted Saratoga Eats, it’s first food truck rally, at the Saratoga Office from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  “What can I say?  The Saratoga Eats event was nothing less than spectacular!” exclaimed Kim Connor, a Realtor out of the Intero Saratoga office, and the primary organizer of the event she dubbed a “neighborhood food truck adventure.”  Although Kim had not been to a movable feast event before herself, she was the right woman for the job, having organized Sam’s ChowderMobile food truck to come to the Intero Saratoga parking lot before.

From Saratoga Eats’ inception, the vendors expressed doubts that attendance would be limited since this was the first food truck rally hosted by Intero, but “boy did we shock the truck vendors!” says Kim.  First, the trucks rolled into the Intero Saratoga parking lot.  Then, about one thousand friends, family, and neighbors of team Intero came together to enjoy the delicious food, drinks, and music.  “The flow of people walking into the parking lot was steady and strong the entire time.  Each vendor that I spoke with the following morning was truly stunned with what we did here,” Kim said during the aftermath.

Ten percent of the proceeds from each truck benefited the Intero Foundation.  In addition to matching the donations from the trucks, Kim Connor underwrote the beer and wine so that all the money collected went directly to the foundation.  Ultimately, the event raised $4,500 that will be dedicated to assisting the education and personal development of children in need.  Cathy Jackson, president of the Intero Foundation, stated, “It was not just an ordinary fundraiser, but a community event that brought people from all over together.”  Intero gives a whole-hearted thank you to Mogo BBQ, Melts My Heart, Porky’s SJ, Midday Picnic, House of Siam On Wheels, We Sushi and Waffle Amore!  We also thank all who attended and helped out in any way, exposing the community to Intero’s values, spreading awareness of what the foundation does, and having fun all the while.

Look forward to the next Saratoga Eats event hosted in the Intero Saratoga parking lot on August 16th 2013.

Intero Realtors Collect $15,600 in 30 days for Local Kids in Need

The REALTORS® of Intero Real Estate Services have proven time and time again that they are committed to the local communities in which they serve, especially when it comes to the children who need it most. In fact, within the last 30 days agents around the bay area pulled together more than $15,000 benefitting the company’s non-profit organization, the Intero Foundation, dedicated to positively impacting the growth and well-being of children in the local community.

Collectively, agents organized three fundraisers, all of which became more successful than expected.

First, in the parking lot of the Intero Saratoga office, Sam’s ChowderMobile was hosted. This food truck is well known in the area for featuring Sam’s Chowder House of Half Moon Bay’s infamous lobster rolls and clam chowder. Intero REALTOR®, Kim Connor orchestrated this event, and out of the goodness of her own heart matched the truck’s sales that afternoon donating $3,500 directly to the Intero Foundation.

On Saturday May 4th, the devoted Intero Saratoga office hosted Hot Wheels For Kids, an annual car show which featured over 70 cars ranging from a 2011 Challenger Hemi to a 1930 Ford Model A. There was a visit from special guest – Dwight “The Catch” Clark, former San Francisco 49er who donated an autographed football, complete with a drawing of “The Catch” play as one of the prizes.

Trophies went to some of the most outstanding cars, including First Place Pre-1975 to John Cross with his powerful 1970 ‘Cuda, First Place Post -1975 to Bryan Rose with his pristine 2011 Challenger Hemi. “South of the Border” award went to the 1956 Chevy Delivery owned by Ronnie Ogas, and the People’s Choice was awarded to Manny Sereno’s 1930 Ford Model A.

The car show all together brought in $7,000 all benefitting the Intero Foundation. To see photos visit the Foundation’s Facebook page.

The last fundraiser, which took place on May 9th, was a bowling night at Cambrian Bowl in San Jose.  Organized by Intero Almaden’s Kraig Constantino, the event sold out quickly with 180 participants including friends, family, Intero agents, and affiliates and brought in $5,600 for the Foundation.

“Intero Real Estate Services’ agents are truly dedicated to giving back to the children in their local community,” said Cathy Jackson, President of the Intero Foundation.  “No matter the time, no matter the effort, these agents care. I applaud them for going the extra mile this last month. The $15,600 donated will make a huge impact on the lives of so many local kids.”

Look forward to the next Foundation event, Saratoga Eats, A Neighborhood Food Truck Adventure, which will take place at the Intero Saratoga office on June 14th from 5-9pm.  For more information about this event and other upcoming events go to interofoundation.org.

When it comes to the Intero Foundation events, you can always count on Intero Agents to jump in and participate however they can.  Whether promoting our most recent e-waste recycling opportunity to the community or volunteering for a shift during recycling hours, this kind of teamwork is what helped us collect over 8,500 pounds of electronic waste on March 16th  in front of the Intero Saratoga office.  Intero teamed up with Earthcare Recycling of San Jose to help people in the community properly dispose of old printers, TV’s, monitors, computers, etc….all while helping to raise $430 for the Intero Foundation.   Many Intero offices, including the Los Altos and Willow Glen offices, have also held e-waste recycling events over the past few years, with the proceeds being donated directly to the Intero Foundation.   Way to go Team Intero!

Hollister’s Hot Wheels for Kids Helping Children Give Back

holister hot wheels for kids
holister hot wheels for kids

A few months ago Hollister’s Intero Real Estate Services raised over $1000 in the First Annual Hot Wheels for Kids Car and Motorcycle Show for the Intero Foundation, which gives the funds back to Bay Area children.  Following the steps of the Saratoga event, Hollister provided a day of fun for the whole family with classic and antique cars and motorcycles for display.  The family oriented community always finds ways to make a difference in children’s lives.

While people voted for the best vehicle at the first annual event, they enjoyed the beats from the local band Smith Alley, starring the talented singer Jesiah Baer.  For a small donation children were able to put on tattoos, play bean bag toss, and cast a line for a fishing game with a guarantee prize.  Children, adults, and Intero agents were smiling and dancing right in the Intero parking lot to create awareness and raise donations for the Intero Foundation, and I am sure they will be in attendance next year.

People do not move to Hollister just because of the affordability and short work commute to the Silicon Valley, but rather they are attracted to the supportive family community.  The Intero Foundation event not only provides a day of fun in Hollister, but teaches children to also give of themselves to help someone else in need.  As the Hollister Ambassador, I am continuing to give back to my community which supported me throughout my childhood.
